Traditional vs. Digital Surrealism

Death Judging War

In this image the artist is using many different types of oil paints. I find it interesting the many different objects that appear in the piece.  It makes you think of the emotion he was feeling when creating this art work.  It is basically trying to show death that is draped through the whole piece.  I like the different colors used throughout along with the way the sky looks.  The oil paints give it a great looking texture along with the colors used.

Look Out

In this photo the artist uses different images that they have taken to create their overall composition.  They used basic photo manipulation to animate some of the images, including the person that you see before you in the image.  It makes me wonder why the person is looking outside of that monument and why he is holding his hands up in that way.

Project 2

The story behind this photo is me running from the cops to get to my car and make a fast get away.  This is obviously not realistic, but the background is a photo of a field in Aberdeen and a photo of my car which is where I am most of the time.

Texture: In this picture, I liked how the flowing water and the oldness of the barn created a texture.  f/3.1, 1/160

Unity: I chose this photo because I liked how I was able to change the color of the cherry and leave the rest in black and white.  F/ 12.8, 1/80

Line: I like how the tracks from people driving on the road created line within the snow.  f/9.4, 1/490

Space: I like how the Threshold adjustment tool looks with the snow and the trees in the back ground. f/9.4, 1/ 350

Value: I like how the snow looks white and shows the shadows of the trees.  f/9.4, 1/470

My Life

My name: Brittany Lenander

Childhood ambition: When I was growing up I wanted to be a actress and a singer.

Fondest Memory: Playing catch in the back yard with my dad. 

Proudest moment: So far, the look on my parents face when I graduated high school.

Biggest challenge: Moving to England while I was in 7th grade with my family.

Alarm clock: Don't use one!

Perfect Day: Nice warm day, with the sun shining drinking ice tea on my deck at home hanging out with my parents. 

Indulgence:Chocolate ice cream with caramel on top.

Favorite movie: The Notebook and Burlesque
